FSU gets $84K grant to help local Math Teachers

Four fifth- or sixth-grade math teachers each from Marion, Monongalia, Harrison and Upshur counties -- a total of 16 teachers -- will be chosen to participate in two-week training sessions at Fairmont State. Teachers will be provided with the necessary materials and resources, as well as a stipend of $200 per day provided through grant funding and matching funds from county school systems. Follow-up meetings, one in fall 2006 and one in spring 2007, will assist teachers as they implement the assessments and strategies learned at the summer training.
