Can Sam Cann and Ron Fragale put Ethics aside and Enjoy the Circus?

While the new law requires lobbyists to report every dollar they spend on legislators or other government officials, it didn’t change the $25 cap on gifts legislators may accept from lobbyists or other “interested parties.”

That would appear to put 10 legislators in violation of the ethics law, according to the disclosure filed by Thomas Albert of Feld Entertainment Inc. in Vienna, Va.

Albert reported that he gave the legislators four $20 tickets each for the Ringling Brothers Circus in Charleston on April 20.

Listed as accepting the tickets are Delegates Joe Talbott, D-Webster; Larry Border, R-Wood; Patti Schoen, R-Putnam; Carrie Webster, D-Kanawha; Larry Williams, D-Preston; D-Fayette; and Dan Foster, D-Kanawha.Sam Cann, D-Harrison; Greg Butcher, D-Logan; Ron Fragale, D-Harrison; and Sens. Shirley Love,
